Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ.

Don't see your question here? Just email us at admin@otlinks.com.au or contact us via the chat link below.

Do I have to be an NDIS participant to access your services?

No, not at all. Our assessment services are also available to privately funded clients to inform therapy provision or to provide a second opinion where required. We also provide evidence of NDIS eligibility to support applications for funded services. If you are unsure, please contact us so that we can further discuss your specific needs.

How do I book an assessment?

To book an assessment, please call on 0412 801 969 or email us at admin@otlinks.com.au. Let us know your preferred communication method (if applicable) and we will get back to you as soon as possible to discuss your requirements.

How much do you charge?

Our fees match the standard hourly rates for NDIS occupational therapy services ($193.99 per hour). The number of hours required for an assessment differs depending on the type of assessment being conducted. A service agreement will be negotiated prior to commencing the assessment to confirm billing costs. An invoice is then issued following completion of the assessment.

Rebates are available through private health insurance (we recommend checking with your provider first) and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funds.

What do you do with my private information?

Your information is stored securely, with full consideration of your privacy. We do not keep physical case notes, and instead use a protected electronic system for documentation purposes. Sometimes we need to share information when speaking to someone involved in your care, but we will always discuss this with you first. Your information will only ever be shared with your consent.

What Telehealth services do you offer?

Both video call and phone consultations are offered to clients who prefer to remain at home, or for those who reside in rural or regional locations. We’re happy to use your preferred choice of platform to help you feel as comfortable as possible.

What can I expect from my assessment interview?

Prior to the assessment, we try to collect as much information as possible (with your consent) to help streamline the assessment process. This might include previous assessment reports, GP letters or case notes, or liaison with those involved in your care (such as care coordinators or allied health professionals).

On the day, we ask you questions about your current function and what your goals are. These questions vary depending on the purpose of the assessment. We may also request that you (or someone who knows you well) complete a standardised assessment to help us provide further evidence to add to your report. The assessments we choose are related to your specific circumstances and help to provide a measure of the impact of your disability.

In some cases, we might also observe you performing an everyday activity (such as preparing a drink or snack) to help us identify areas of strength and/or difficulty. We will discuss with you potential options and recommendations so that you are able to provide your opinion on what supports you would find most helpful.

Following this, the assessor will write their report, summarising the assessment findings and providing options for support recommendations or specific interventions that we think might be useful. The assessment is then checked for quality assurance, and distributed to yourself and other nominated parties.
